Department Summary

At DigitasLBi the Strategy team blends an understanding of what people are doing and why to find compelling, original solutions to our client’s business problems. Our multidisciplinary team tackles a wide range of strategic briefs, whether framing the direction for new platforms and services to providing a powerful springboard for compelling content and campaigns – and helping clients manage for digital transformation.

Role Summary

As a Senior Strategist (social media), you will be working on a progressive, dedicated team for one of our major clients in the FMCG sector.

This team consists of creatives, producers and a social media strategist and works across multiple household-name brands delivering creative, impactful work that is both strategic and tactical.

The role is based at DigitasLBi offices in Brick Lane with 2 days per week (or more if necessary) at our client’s media agency offices in central London.


  • You will be responsible for a major strategic initiative for 2017, up-front strategy and integrated experience platform planning.
  • Creating briefs for designer and producer, taking part in inter-agency huddles and representing strategy to client.
  • Working closely with media agency partners to analyse behavioural data to align social content.
  • Ensuring social content is compelling, timely and within relevant regulations.

Skills & Experience


  • Totally fluent in social media platforms, audiences and channels, with strong track record in planning effective campaigns. Must include in-depth working knowledge of social analytics tools.
  • Have a very clear idea of what makes social campaigns resonate with audiences and makes people participate, especially for mainstream, household-name brands.
  • Adept at turning data insights into actionable and credible communications strategy
  • Persuasive, effective and cogent communicator, especially on conference calls.
  • Capable of winning client trust from day one.


  • FMCG experience and ideally in food category, with a personal interest in food.
  • Ambitious, collaborative and resilient – wants to take client on a journey to a market-leading, ground-breaking approach.
  • Real-world interests that means you talk to and understand people who don’t have a similar background, educational ability or values.
