Associate Director – Technology

What you’ll do:

As Associate Director of Technology, you’ll take a leading role in supporting a cross-functional team of marketing, strategy, planning, creative and project management members, helping the team at large understand technology tactics and business implications. Day to day, your responsibilities include:

  • Keeping a firm pulse on emerging technologies and the digital landscape to shape technical direction
  • Accurately estimating hours and project time needs, and actively participate in scope definition
  • Creating and maintaining functional and technical requirements
  • Proactively identifying and resolving technical issues with your team
  • Developing client team leadership for complex and/or multiple projects
  • Partnering with client IT organizations in the delivery of solutions
  • Developing initial project concepts; defining budgets and timelines; and ensuring flawless execution
  • Partnering with QA to manage the quality assurance process
  • Providing technology insights, recommendations and solutions to clients
  • Developing direct reports through timely, thoughtful performance reviews and development plans

We’re looking for an experienced Associate Director who’s also a delight to work with, which usually includes:

  • A four-year degree (Computer Science or equivalent preferred)
  • 7 to 9 or more years managing technical teams in the development of highly complex, enterprise-class web implementations (preferably at a creative agency)
  • Project Management Certification (preferred) and an established track record for accurately scoping and maintaining budget and resources on multiple complex technology projects
  • Significant experience in matching internet technologies to business needs
  • Combination of comprehensive technical experience and senior level project delivery experience
  • Deep familiarity with the digital environment
  • Willingness to travel as needed – you’re open to new places, new faces and new ideas
  • Strong collaboration, flexibility and ability operate effectively – even in ambiguous circumstances
  • Ability to break down larger efforts into digestible tasks for other team members
