Overview

Vice President / Group Director – Creative Strategy

We’re looking for a Vice President / Group Director, Creative Strategy with a passion to solve clients’ complex business problems with innovative ideas, programs, and products.

The role is to unearth pivotal industry and audience insights, to transform the information into provocative marketing ideas that will drive business and communication for our clients.

As Vice President/ Group Director, you’ll take ownership to drive the impact of our business, leading the charge for us to become a more influential partner to CMOs and CEOs through the quality of our ideas and creative work.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic conversation with senior-level clients and agency partners
  • Define the strategy for transformational business ideas and experiences that span the B2B marketing and communication eco-system
  • Proactively determine where and how in-depth insights about attitudes and behavior can help make clients’ marketing more successful, applying innovative research and listening methodologies to create relevant, breakthrough, and inspiring Creative
  • Partner with researchers, Analysts and Data Scientists to extract the most powerful meaning from quantitative and qualitative research to uncover revelations about human behavior
  • Serve as both an anchor and springboard for the other strategic capabilities: Marketing, Media, Strategy & Analysis, Social and Content
  • Develop agency thought-leadership pieces and be an evangelist for the Creative Strategy capability across the agency, demonstrating DigitasLBi’s standing as an industry leader and driver of what’s next, across a wide array of existing clients and new business opportunities
  • Manage and mentor mid-level planners and rising Brand Strategy talent.

Required Skills:

  • Critical thinker and strategic provocateur- curious and questioning; able to provide a specific point of view on contemporary brand experience, in a digital age.
  • Story-teller- persuasive style that wins consensus
  • Leader- Providing a vision for a team, prioritizing opportunities and acting as a senior member of a cross-capability team
  • Digital marketing savvy- an appreciation for what’s new and important in modern marketing, what it means for brand communications and consumer engagement
  • Willingness to roll up the sleeves to help bring great ideas to life
  • Proven influence at the CMO level and beyond
  • A reputation for being exceptionally insightful, enterprising, articulate, and convincing
  • Research ambidextrous- understand and execute qualitative and quantitative methods, extracting meaning from data and crafting powerful insights about behavior.
  • 12-14 years of experience in marketing and/or strategic services organizations such as an advertising agency account planning department, brand consultancy, consulting firm or large strategic planning group
  • Qualitative research expertise applying innovative qualitative research techniques
  • Familiarity with interpreting and applying quantitative research
  • Ability to discern industry insight and ‘human truth’ from mounds of data
  • Passion and empathy towards a business audience and their perspective
