The Anne Frank House who look after the Secret Annexe are maxed out each year at around 1 million visitors. And yet so many more people have been touched by Anne Frank’s story. Taking her experience to the digital realm, we’d be able to reach people across the globe.
The Secret Annex Online is a 3D version of the house at Prinsengracht 263 in Amsterdam. It lets people explore the building during the time Anne hid there – in never-before-seen furnished rooms. Stories at different touch points explain what happened in greater depth.
Immediately after launch, the site was picked up by national and international press. Just under 500,000 people have visited the site, with visitors staying an average of 17 minutes.
